I taught a Yoga class alongside Chris Filkins, who demo’d acro with me and Rebecca Chen at Holi Festival of Colors in Norwalk, CA spring of 2016. We had a nice long day together and I ended up facilitating his weekly Intermediate/Advanced Westside Acro workshop on Friday nights at Laughing Frog in Santa Monica. It’s been an amazing time of discovery and sharing. I have learned so much from Chris and the incredible LA Acro community – and, most amazingly, I am able to pass the knowledge on to others right away. The #deepmonkeystyle fold keeps on growing: people just come up to me and ask to play. My yoga students gravitate towards Acro when their curiosity takes over and they want to know how far they can go. I love Acro for the absolute focus it demands, for the opportunity for authentic connection, how it draws the strong and daring, and for making me beastly strong and acutely aware! Thank the Universe for Acro. I can’t wait to get to Divine Play and hone my skills!
